Market hours FAQ

What time does the US stock market open?

NYSE and Nasdaq regular trading runs 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday to Friday. Pre-market trading starts at 4:00 a.m. and after-hours trading ends at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

What are China A-share trading hours?

Shanghai and Shenzhen trade 9:30–11:30 and 13:00–15:00 Beijing time. The opening call auction runs 9:15–9:25 and the closing call auction 14:57–15:00.

What are Hong Kong stock market hours?

HKEX has a pre-opening session 9:00–9:30, continuous trading 9:30–12:00 and 13:00–16:00, and a closing auction 16:00–16:10 Hong Kong time. On half days only the morning session trades.

When do China futures night sessions trade?

Night sessions start at 21:00 Beijing time and end at 23:00, 1:00 or 2:30 depending on the contract. There is no night session on the last trading day before a public holiday.

When is the forex market open?

Forex trades from 5:00 p.m. New York time on Sunday to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The London and New York sessions overlap from 8:00 a.m. New York time until the London close.

Does TickClock cover unscheduled closures?

No. Holidays and half days come from exchange calendars, but closures for system outages or other emergencies cannot be known in advance. Since 23 September 2024 Hong Kong keeps trading under Typhoon Signal No. 8 and Black Rainstorm warnings. Always check exchange notices.
