China futures trading hours and night sessions

Commodity futures on the Shanghai, Dalian and Zhengzhou exchanges trade 9:00–10:15, 10:30–11:30 and 13:30–15:00 Beijing time. Many contracts also have a night session starting at 21:00 and ending at 23:00, 1:00 or 2:30.

Each trading day opens with a 5-minute call auction: 20:55–21:00 for contracts with a night session, 8:55–9:00 for the others and on the first day after a holiday. A night session belongs to the next trading day, so Friday night trades for Monday. There is no night session on the last trading day before a public holiday. Stock index futures follow stock market hours and have no night session.

When do China futures night sessions start?

At 21:00 Beijing time. They end at 23:00, 1:00 or 2:30 depending on the contract.

Is there a night session on Friday?

Yes. Friday night trading counts towards the following Monday.

Is there a night session before a holiday?

No. Night sessions are paused on the last trading day before a public holiday and resume on the first trading day after it.
